Balloon2

If you have suffered or have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis or recurrent acute sinusitis and have failed medical therapy, you may be a candidate for sinus surgery.

Balloon sinus dilation – or Balloon Sinuplasty - is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive sinus procedure that can help alleviate chronic sinusitis. The procedure is less invasive than traditional sinus surgery. It has a shorter recovery time and allows most patients to return to normal activities within one to two days. Balloon sinus dilation can also be performed under local anesthesia in an office setting, making it much safer and more convenient than going to a hospital operating room.

Services BalloonSinuplasy

The balloon sinuplasty device is a specially designed catheter that is inserted into the nose to reach the sinus cavities that are inflamed. The balloon is inserted into the tiny opening of the sinus and inflated. This gently pushes the soft tissue and bone to the side. The balloon is then removed and sinus aeration and drainage are re-established. This preserves the natural anatomy and function of the sinuses without the removal of tissue, resulting in less bleeding, no packing, and a quicker recovery time.

This can also be combined with other nasal procedures to help with nasal obstruction due to a deviated septum, turbinate enlargement or nasal polyps.

Our practice offers comprehensive sinus disease treatment including fiberoptic scope evaluations, in-office CT scans, medical management of sinus disease, and sinus balloon dilation or sinus surgery, if necessary.
