There are two types of wrinkles on the face.

  • Static wrinkles are present all the time and are best treated with dermal fillers such as Juvéderm®.
  • Dynamic wrinkles are the result of contraction of muscles causing the wrinkles to occur. These are best treated by weakening the facial muscles with injections such as such as BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Some of the factors that accelerate facial aging include:

  • Genetic predisposition
  • Sun damage
  • Cigarette smoking
  • Acne
  • Chicken pox

Treatment of the Aging Face

Minimally invasive interventions such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and facial fillers can improve your appearance without having to undergo major surgical procedures which typically have increased risk and require prolonged recovery.

BOTOX® works by causing facial muscle to stop contracting. This prevents wrinkles from forming as well as reduces existing wrinkles. Facial fillers center on the use of Juvéderm®, Restylane® and Radiesse®. These agents work to fill in folds, wrinkles and furrows in the face. The most important thing to remember about both BOTOX® and facial fillers is that the results are not permanent.

Our practice offers comprehensive, minimally invasive facial rejuvenation options. For further information, or to book an appointment with one of our physicians, contact us at our Plantation (954-476-0400) or Coral Springs (954-796-0400) office.
